Dokter Elens: “In de huidige vorm vind ik dat het NHG advies misleidend en ik verzoek U daarom om het advies te reviseren en daarbij het overige relevante bewijs mee te nemen.”
Huisarts Rob Elens heeft een uitgebreid gemotiveerde reactie geschreven naar aanleiding van het kritische onderzoek van het NHG (het Nederlandse Huisartsen Genootschap).
Het NHG concludeerde en motiveerde in Augustus 2020 dat gebruik van het goedkope anti-malariamiddel Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) zowel als monotherapie als in combinatie met Zink en AZT af te raden was.
Onderzoeken die duidden op mogelijke positieve effecten van HCQ als Corona-medicijn werden door de NHG onderzoekers alsvolgt gekwalificeerd:
“De kwaliteit van het bewijs is zeer laag, vanwege het ernstige risico op bias en onnauwkeurigheid.”
Dokter Rob Elens motiveert in zijn weerwoord op het NHG onderzoek waarom hij komt tot de volgende eindconclusie van hem die lijnrecht staat tegenover het NHG:
“Natuurlijk willen we allemaal de gouden standaard, het dubbel blinde gerandomiseerde onderzoek .
Maar tot nu toe is dit nog niet gebeurd. Tot die tijd moeten we het ander bewijs doen wat ruimschoots aanwezig is.
Er wordt ook gesproken over de juridische status van het NHG document. Daarin wordt vermeld dat dat zorgverleners op basis van proffesionele autonomie zo nodig kunnen afwijken van de richtlijn. Dit staat ook zo in de geneesmiddelenwet omschreven. Dit moet wel besproken worden met de patient en de apotheker. Dan kan er nooit strafvervolging volgen omdat offlabel voorschrijven mag volgens de geneesmiddelen wet. In zo een geval staat de wet boven de richtlijnen.
Samenvattend maakt naar mijn mening het NHG hier een belangrijke vergissing om zoveel bewijs dat bestaat niet mee te nemen in hun inventarisatie van het onderzoek naar het effect van HCQ in de eerste lijn. U legt een te grote nadruk op bijwerkingen die nauwlijks voorkomen.
